Nick Shepherd started tekFinder in 2018. He began his recruitment career in the UK and moved to Australia in 2011.

He'd seen how transactional and number-driven recruitment could be, and wanted to build something less corporate and less salesy: a team where candidates and clients feel comfortable and valued, from the first call to the first check-in after the start date.

In the early days JavaScript, React and UI design kept us busy. These days it's backend and data: Java, AWS and GCP, and data platforms like Palantir, Databricks, Snowflake and AWS Bedrock. That's helping our clients take up AI and build teams that run on data.

In 2023 Nick started tekFoundation, to do the same work for charities that need tech people, funded from our fees.

Work at tekFinder

We're always looking for recruitment consultants who work hard, care about their craft and want to be rewarded. There are clear criteria for getting promoted, and a commission scheme we think leads the market.
