About the business
Our client is one of Australia’s leading streaming and digital media businesses, home to some of the biggest names in live sport and premium TV. They have recently completed a major project merging two digital platforms, their customers and engineering teams onto a single platform. The result is a combined engineering organisation of around 80 engineers, growing to circa 90.
The role
This is a newly created role leading the combined engineering organisation. You’ll have 5 to 6 direct reports (Engineering Managers) and be accountable for engineering, delivery and product outcomes across the group.
The Engineering Managers are highly technical and focused on keeping the platform’s apps running at their best. This role complements that strength by bringing people leadership, structure and culture to the organisation.
Key responsibilities
- Lead, coach and develop a team of Engineering Managers through regular one-to-ones, training and career development
- Set and drive OKRs, aligning engineering, delivery and product around a shared mission
- Build and embed a strong, consistent engineering culture across the combined organisation
- Lead the adoption of AI across engineering teams, including rolling out Spec-Driven Development and the cultural change that comes with it
- Stay across architecture, solution design and engineering decisions across all teams
About you
- Currently a CTO, Head of Engineering or similar senior engineering leader
- Experience leading engineering organisations of 50+ people
- People-first leader who enjoys uplifting others and building high-performing teams
- Track record of introducing AI-driven development practices, ideally Spec-Driven Development, and leading the associated cultural shift
- Solid understanding of architecture, solution design and engineering, without needing to be the deepest technical expert in the room
- Energetic, visible and inspiring presence who enjoys working in the office
- Interest in sport, TV or streaming is a bonus

Package
Up to $320k base salary.
